  • Who produces this event?GCUC was brought to Canada by Ashley Proctor. The GCUC Canada team is a part of the global GCUC network, and each conference is produced locally.
  • Where is the conference being hosted?We spend Day One and Day Two at the gorgeous Artscape Wychwood Barns. On Day Three, workshops and tours will be held at multiple venues across the city.
  • Is the conference in English?Yes, the 2015 edition is in English until happy hour… then we switch to Pig Latin!
  • Is there a dress code?No, but we will take your picture! Dress comfortably and be yourself. Just bring your thinking cap for the conference and your fancy-dancey-pants for the parties!
  • Will the conference be live streamed?No, the live content is exclusively for GCUC Canada attendees.
  • Does the conference ticket include meals?Yes! Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided on Day One & Day Two. You will have the opportunity to purchase your own meals on Day Three.
  • Is there an after-party?Of course there is! We celebrate together on September 17th and 19th. If this is your first time at GCUC, you’ll learn quickly that we work hard AND play hard!
  • How can I get connected with other attendees?Add your profile to the ‘Who’s Coming‘ page, join the GCUC Canada Facebook Group, visit the GCUC Canada Facebook page and jump into the conversation on twitter!
  • Which airport should I use in Toronto?Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) are both suitable options.
  • Where should I stay in Toronto?The conference venue is located in mid-town however we recommend you explore the diversity of the downtown core. Toronto is a city of unique neighbourhoods, so be sure to review our ‘Welcome to Toronto‘ blog post for tips, maps and accommodations.
  • What’s the best way to get around the city?Toronto’s public transit (TTC) includes subways, streetcars and busses. You can easily find a taxi at any hour. Much of the city is walkable from the downtown core. Parking can be difficult in Toronto, so we recommend car-pooling if you’re driving.
  • Will we have the chance to visit coworking spaces?Absolutely! On Day Three the Coworking Toronto collective hosts tours of the most outstanding collaborative workspaces and special attractions the city has to offer. Exploring Toronto with these passionate ambassadors will be a lot of fun!
  • How can I help with GCUC Canada?You could volunteer your time! Contact us and let us know what skill you’d like to share. You could also become a sponsor! Take a look at our sponsorship package, and contact us to get started.
  • What is IndieCon Toronto / Day Four?IndieCon Toronto will be held on Saturday September 19th (Day Four) and although it’s independently produced, it can be added to your GCUC Canada experience. This one-day Unconference for Independent Workers is open to GCUC Canada participants as well as any self-employed, freelancer, entrepreneur, startup or remote worker in any industry. More details to come!
  • If for some reason I can’t attend, do you offer refunds?Sorry, no refunds, but you can transfer or sell your ticket. We recommend posting to the GCUC Canada Facebook group and the Coworking Google Group if you have a ticket you need to sell. Remember to Contact us after the transfer so we can change the name on the ticket and conference badge.
